The doctoral research line is co-funded by the European Union

On 15 September 2026 Riigi Tugiteenuste Keskus, the implementing agency for the Estonian Ministry of Education and Research, granted Tyche Institute MTÜ's application under the measure Sektoritevahelise mobiilsuse toetamine (support for intersectoral mobility), activity "Knowledge-transfer doctoral students employed in private, public and third-sector organisations". The project is Vastutustundliku tehisintellekti-agendi toimingu valmiduse hindamise raamistik — A readiness-assessment framework for accountable AI-agent actions — number 2021-2027.1.01.26-1995, decision no. 11.3-1/26/3843.

The grant supports one full-time knowledge-transfer doctoral position at the institute from 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2029: Anton Sokolov, doctoral student at Tallinn University of Technology, whose thesis work builds and validates a framework for assessing how ready digital states and organisations are to take responsibility for a delegated or AI-agent action under eIDAS 2.0, the EU Digital Identity Wallet, qualified electronic attestations of attributes and the AI Act. Total eligible cost is €158,961.60; the support is up to €111,273.12 (70 %), with the institute's own contribution of at least €47,688.48. The aid is de minimis.

The support is co-financed by the European Union from cohesion policy funds. It reimburses the position as a standard unit cost and is reported twice a year; it does not fund, endorse or certify any product, and the research results do not represent the views of the European Union or of the Estonian state.
