Support
Tyche Institute MTÜ is a non-profit association registered under Estonian law (registrikood 80673227). Donations fund the parts of the research programme that no client pays for: maintaining the observatories and their open datasets, publishing working papers and reference code, standards participation, and the long-term preservation of evidence bundles so that published claims stay checkable after the systems that produced them are gone.
What arrives is published in the donations ledger, together with an account of what that record does and does not prove.
Changing or stopping a monthly donation
A monthly donation can be changed or stopped at any time, without writing to anyone and without giving a reason. Enter the email address you donated with on the donor page Stripe hosts for us and Stripe emails you a link to it. From there you can replace the card or cancel. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the month you have already paid for; nothing further is taken after that.
What a donation does not buy
A donation buys no influence over what Tyche studies, finds, or publishes, and no review of a result before it appears. Donors are not given advance sight of working papers, are not consulted on conclusions, and are not represented in governance. Where a donation is large enough that a reader might reasonably wonder about it, it is disclosed alongside the work it touches.
Tyche declines donations that are made conditional on a finding, that come from a party with an undisclosed interest in an ongoing study, or that would compromise the independence stated in its governance.
Tax treatment
Tyche makes no claim that a donation is tax-deductible. Estonian income-tax relief for gifts depends on the recipient appearing on the Tax and Customs Board list of associations with income-tax incentives, and Tyche does not assert that status here. If that changes, this page will say so and link to the register entry. For anything turning on the tax position, consult your own adviser.
Giving as an institution
A university, foundation or company whose finance office needs a document before it can pay should write to [email protected] with the amount, the legal name and address to invoice, and any purchase order or reference the invoice must carry. Tyche issues an invoice with a PDF for your records. The invoice can be paid by card or by bank transfer; for a transfer, the invoice page itself supplies the account number to pay into.
The details your finance office will ask for:
- Legal name:
- Tyche Institute MTÜ
- Registry code:
- 80673227 (Estonian e-Business Register)
- Address:
- Tallinn, Estonia
- Nature of the payment:
- a donation. No goods or services are supplied in return, and no donor tax deduction attaches to it.
For a grant, or a gift large enough that you would want a conversation first, the same address reaches a person rather than a form.
