The MIRROR article is out in the Journal of Open Research Software

“MIRROR: Local Evidence Bundles for Reproducible Research Software Review, with a JANUS Case Study” is published in the Journal of Open Research Software, volume 14, article 65, doi:10.5334/jors.753, as an Issues in Research Software article. It appeared online on 21 October 2026 and is open access under CC BY 4.0. The journal received the manuscript on 30 May 2026 and accepted it on 30 September 2026.

MIRROR is an open-source Python tool and workflow that keeps each claim of a research article next to the files that support it. A bundle is a local folder with three parts: the work under review, copies of its supporting files, and a claim register. An offline verifier then reports supporting files that are missing or have changed, format errors, and claims worded with assurance phrases. The worked case, JANUS, applies a bundle to the machine-translation drift of article sentences.

The article is explicit about what a passing bundle means: it shows what was kept and what was claimed, not that a claim is true.

The software is archived on Zenodo as MIRROR v0.1.1, 10.5281/zenodo.20463358. The acceptance note of 30 September 2026 records the review that led here.
